Manchester United and England footballer Wayne Rooney - who broke Sir Bobby Charlton's England goalscoring record during the team's September 8 match against Switzerland - is to be the subject of a new BBC One film, which takes a look at his family life and career.
The 60 minute film, Rooney - The Man Behind The Goals, airs October 5, and Rooney commented 'I have been approached many times about allowing the cameras into our lives and always said no. But now seems the right time. This film is not just about my goals, it's about the people I care about the most, my team mates, the people closest to me but most importantly, my family'.
